  7. The Transport Service Bridge (TSB) allows applications written to use WIN/ULS
  8. and running over one transport protocol (such as TCP/IP) to communicate with
  9. identical applications running over another transport protocol (such as the TP4
  10. provided with WIN/LLS)
  11.  
  12. The TSB takes advantage of the flexible addressing scheme of the OSI protocols
  13. and through the use of RFC 1006, ``ISO Transport Services On Top of the TCP,''
  14. converts the addressing and lower-layer protocols (Transport, Network, Data
  15. Link, Physical) between OSI-based networks and TCP-based networks
  16.  
  17. This flexible gateway could also be augmented to provide connectivity between
  18. American-style OSI networks using CLNS technology and European-style OSI
  19. networks using CONS (Connection-oriented Network Services) technology
  20.  
  21. WIN/TSB is a member of the WIN/OSI product family which provides the
  22. functionality of the computer communication protocols defined by the
  23. International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
